Hebron Center Nursery School
Serving Our Community Since 1970

| Thank you for your interest in our preschool! |
Welcome to the Hebron Center Nursery School (HCNS) website. HCNS
is a non-profit cooperative nursery school that has been enriching children’s
lives for over 35 years. This website will provide you with the
answers to many of the questions you may have; including class sessions,
the school philosophy and the rules & bylaws of HCNS.
A cooperative nursery school
is a very special and unique place. It means that the parents
are involved with all aspects of their child’s first school experience.
Involvement opportunities may include a Board position, helping with
fundraising, field trips, parent of the day responsibilities, coordinating
membership, as well as many other activities that can fit your schedule.
The wonderful thing about a cooperative school is that your family can
be as involved as you want to be… either a little or a lot!!
What really makes HCNS stand
out from the other schools in the area are our teachers. They
are the best!! (Just ask anyone who knows them!!) They provide
a fun-filled, hands-on, educational experience that helps prepare our
little ones for kindergarten. Whether they are working on a project
or playing outside, the teachers are instilling the importance of teamwork,
respecting your neighbor, self-confidence and independence.
We at HCNS are excited for the
new school year. If you would like more information, please contact
our Membership Chairs: Allison Heneghan 228-5079 (3year olds) and Kari
Tew (4 year olds).
Thank you for your interest in
“the little red schoolhouse”!!!
Sincerely,
Dina Bonetti & Robin Kelley

Now boarding for an exciting trip around the world this summer!
Over a period of four weeks this summer, HCNS once again offers our children the opportunity to “see the world.” Campers will be creating, cooking, playing, singing, laughing, and dancing their way across the globe as we visit Japan, Brazil, France, Italy, and Greece. We will be running with the bulls in Pamplona, making costumes and masks for a South American carnival, saddling up the horses for The Palio in Italy, making a Peace Tree out of Origami and silk ribbons in Japan and swimming with the sharks along the Great Barrier Reef.

First Session: June 29 – July 1, 2009 ***
Second Session: July 6- 9, 2009
Third Session: July 13 – 16, 2009

Click here for more information and a registration form for the Summer Pre-K Program.Hebron Center Nursery School is helping children get ready for school through a fun and interactive camp aimed at building kindergarten readiness skills and self confidence.
Campers will strengthen phonemic awareness skills through a series of games, improve speaking and listening proficiency, develop reading and writing tools via the creation and illustration of their own book, “cook with math,” build strength and stamina through physical fitness activities and movement, and learn to participate in a cooperative manner through work, play, and conflict resolution. Children will investigate, experiment and discover the magic of the world around them as they hone the skills necessary to succeed in a kindergarten environment.
Sessions run Monday through Thursday, 9:00a.m. until 11:45a.m. The cost per session is $70.00. Registrations can be sent to HCNS, PO Box 137, Hebron, CT 06248 and must be received by July 4th. Please contact Robin Kelley at 228-8585 with any questions.
