SOAR higher than ever together!
For more than 40 years. HCNS has provided an excellent early childhood education to local students, but that doesn’t mean that we act our age!! HCNS has long been at the forefront of early childhood education providing a fun and dynamic learning environment while addressing the ever increasing educational standards required to meet the demands of a global learning community. Not only do we continually modify our program curriculum to keep up with ever changing educational requirements, we are now evolving further to keep up with the needs of the ever changing and very busy American family. Young children are innately curious and make meaningful discoveries through exploration, play and experience. By offering a healthy dose of quiet and active, group and individual, and indoor and outdoor instruction, HCNS will continue to provide an exciting, supportive, caring and age appropriate educational environment that will continue to retain the flavor and the magic of a traditional preschool program.
Much of the feedback received indicates that many parents would love to send their child to HCNS, but the short classes and additional parental responsibilities that go with a cooperative preschool program are not feasible for some busy parents. HCNS is and will remain a cooperative school, but only if you want it to be. If work or personal demands make it difficult for you to participate in the co-op aspect of our school, you can now opt out of co-op responsibilities by paying an additional fee. We also welcome parent and caregiver volunteers in the classroom to assist the teachers and students throughout the school day.First and foremost, our goal at HCNS is to make learning fun, exciting and age-appropriately challenging. Preschool is the foundation in the building of a successful lifelong love of learning. We recognize that and integrate within every school day the tools necessary for your child to thrive and excel along their educational journey, both here at HCNS and in the future. Just like a recipe in a cookbook, HCNS uses many “ingredients” to create one fabulous educational experience. Great attention is paid to meeting the Connecticut Framework for Preschool Education by focusing on personal/social, cognitive, physical, aesthetic development and creative expression all in a low pressure, nurturing and dynamic learning environment guaranteeing your child a successful transition into higher learning. We have extended the school day giving both teachers and students more time for creative learning through exploring, adventure and exposure to new concepts while also providing schedule flexibility for parents wanting or needing an extended day option for their child. The choice is yours - a traditional or extended day program.
